Owners Pandit and Sudha Patil had a long-standing dream to own a vineyard one day and in 2009, Narmada Winery was established in Rappahannock County, VA. Throughout their married life, Pandit and Sudha traveled the globe and kindled their passion for fine wine.
Sudha’s knowledge of complex spices enable her to coax latent flavors from her grapes and to produce graceful wines. Narmada wines have achieved more than 40 gold medals in national and international competitions!
Philip Carter Winery has deep roots in the Virginia wine industry, that go as far back as the late 1700s. Charles Carter was instrumental in establishing wine cultivation and wine making in Virginia. In 1762, he sent the London Royal Society of the Arts bottles of his wine, made from American grape and was awarded a gold medal as the first person to make a “spirited attempt towards the accomplishment of their views, respecting wine in America”
In 2008, Philip Carter Strother, a direct descendent of the Carter family, founded the Philip Carter Winery.
The Zissios family journey began in the scenic mountains of Greece when co-owner Yianni (John) Zissios started making wine with his grandfather at the age of 9. What started as tradition turned into a passion.
The award-winning wines, along with breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Shenandoah Valley make BVV a premiere destination. BVV has also won awards as best wedding venue! As part of our Leisurely Tour, at BVV, you will enjoy a tasting of their white, rose, and red wines and delight in gorgeous views.
The Morais family has been making wine for over a hundred years. In Portugal, the heritage of wine making has been passed down from generation to generation. Joining this age old family tradition with Virginia’s rich history of winemaking, the Morais family has built a legacy which has become an area landmark. The Winery opened its doors to the public in 2011. At Morais, you will enjoy a deluxe wine tasting, featuring three port-style wines, and an option for chocolate pairing.
The vineyard, Meriwether, is the oldest Chardonnay vineyard in Virginia, producing wine from its 30 acres for over 40 years. Chris Pearmund bought Meriwether Vineyard in 1996 and in 2022, he launched the 47th winery in Virginia - Pearmund Cellars. Chris was recently voted as the best winemaker in Virginia by Virginia Wine Lovers Magazine and Pearmund Cellars as Virginia’s best winery several times.
